We have concluded our search for speakers for this year's conference and are no longer accepting proposals at this time. Thank you for your interest in becoming a speaker.

Expectations

Presenters are expected to:

  • Meet all deadlines.
  • Submit a black and white photo, saved as a grayscale TIFF(.TIF), at least 300 dpi resolution, within three weeks of acceptance.
  • Retain the session content & audio/visual needs as originally submitted.
  • Provide advance notice if a change of presenter or presenters is required.
  • Honor the Garden State Council • SHRM Annual Conference & Expo commitment to provide a professional education experience by not showcasing or promoting the speaker's practice, service or product. Don't sell - teach!
  • Agree to have all presentation materials and information included in a Conference CD or post-conference web pages that will be distributed to Conference attendees and potentially sold after the conference.
  • Agree to include the Garden State Council • SHRM logo on presentation slides.
  • Provide handouts for the audience if desired.

Instructions for Submitting a Proposal

  • Submit all requested information via the online form .
  • Include attachments in either Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Adobe Acrobat formats only.
  • Include Abstract for Conference Brochure: In 100 words or less, please provide a brief marketing summary to attract participants to your session. Please identify the target audience. Should the abstract run longer than 100 words, please re-word so that it remains under 100 words or less.
  • Include Abstract for Conference Guide: In 175 words or less, please summarize the contents of your proposal. Please identify the target audience. Should the abstract run longer than 175 words, please re-word so that it remains under 175 words or less.
  • If you have more than 3 documents to attach, please forward them to programs@gscshrm.org.
  • Your proposal is received if you receive a successful message after submission. If you do not receive this message after submitting, please email programs@gscshrm.org for assistance.
  • Full proposals will not be accepted via email. Only submissions via the online form will be accepted.
  • All proposals must be received on or before June 4th to be considered.

Notification of Acceptance

Notification of acceptance will be emailed no later than June 25, 2008. Please note that acceptance by the committee is of the individual(s) submitting this proposal; should speaker or content substitution be required, the committee retains the right to substitute the presentation of another respondent from the proposals reviewed.
